Vélez's Semana Santa is interesting sociocultural festival. In the religious procession 19 brotherhoods participate. The Thursday and Friday saints are the most respected days with the biggest number of brotherhoods and symbols, although the rest of the brotherhood are equally important from the Domingo de Ramos to Domingo de Resurrección.
